Synopsis

Andrey Konchalovsky stands at the Cannes film festival in 1979, where his film Sibiriada wins a special jury prize. This moment marks a turning point in his life. After receiving permission to travel abroad for a year, he chooses not to return to Russia, seeking permanent residence instead. His decision divides his life into "before" and "after." Even a decade later, upon his return to Russia, Konchalovsky continues to search for his identity through his work.
