Synopsis

In August 2006, Java faces more than its fair share of natural disasters, prompting locals to believe that the Gods are displeased. Mystics on the island assert that the calamities stem from the people's neglect of their spiritual traditions. The ceremonies once led by spiritual leaders are now absent, leading to a crisis of faith among the population. Sultan Hamengkubuwono, under increasing pressure from the ruling party and the public, grapples with the need to revive these traditions. As the island's people seek solace and answers, the Sultan may have to reconsider his stance and reconnect with the spiritual practices of the past to restore harmony.
