Synopsis
Jacques Lacan stands at the podium of the Catholic University of Louvain on October 13, 1972, addressing a packed audience. During his speech, a student interrupts, mocking public intellectuals. Lacan permits the disruption, weaving the student's criticisms into his discussion. He covers themes such as death, language, love, and alienation. Following the speech, Belgian documentarian Françoise Wolff interviews Lacan, probing his complex ideas on psychoanalysis. This film captures one of only two known filmed appearances of Lacan.
