During Italy's COVID-19 lockdown, artist Spagnuolo sought a new way to process overwhelming pandemic data. He created "#iorestoacasa," a virtual artefact that visualizes virus-related statistics through a particle system. The project transforms complex numbers into a soothing visual experience, altering shape and color based on relevant data. The title, translating to "stay home," honors the collective effort that helped slow the virus's spread and ease the burden on the healthcare system.
