Investigating Paradise

Synopsis

Nedjma, a young Algerian journalist, investigates Islamic views of paradise in Algeria. Working with her colleague Mustapha, she finds a series of video sermons delivered by Salafi preachers. These sermons use persuasive language to recruit young men as jihadists. The documentary follows Nedjma's inquiry into the tactics of these preachers and the effect their messages have on vulnerable youth. It addresses themes of faith and manipulation within a context of social unrest.
