Emerging Indigenous filmmakers Kassia Ward, Meky Ottawa, and Chris Grant participated in a 22-week apprenticeship through the 's Hothouse program.

Synopsis

The 's Hothouse program has supported emerging animators since its inception, and its 12th edition focuses on increasing Indigenous representation in animation. In collaboration with imagineNATIVE and associate producers Amanda Strong and Amanda Roy, the program features three filmmakers from Turtle Island: Kassia Ward, Meky Ottawa, and Chris Grant. Over 22 weeks, these artists engage in a paid apprenticeship that combines training with the creation of their own auteur-driven projects. Directed by Rose Stiffarm, the film runs for 10 minutes.
