Synopsis

Djalu Gurruwiwi, a Yolngu elder, and his sister Dhanggal work to preserve their family's musical heritage in Arnhem Land, Australia. As they guide their Galpu clan through various challenges, including economic and environmental pressures, they seek new custodians to carry on their traditions. Narrated by James Cromwell, In Between Songs documents their efforts to safeguard a cultural legacy that is at risk of fading away. The film runs for 86 minutes and was released in 2014.
