Synopsis

Artisans in Barre, Vermont, carve granite in the "Granite Capital of the World." Many of these stonecutters emigrated from northern Italy. They bring skills learned in Italian quarries and workshops to New England. The film follows their lives as they work in granite carving sheds. It captures their efforts to balance their Italian heritage with their new American identities. Families navigate the challenges of preserving traditions while adapting to a different culture.
