Synopsis

Bariba, also known as the betamaribe or somba people, represent one of the most primitive tribes in Africa. They reside in Borgou, located in northern Benin, between Nigeria and Togo. While they have transitioned from being solely hunters to also growing crops and raising livestock, hunting remains a significant aspect of their culture. They hunt in small groups led by a chief, using arrowheads treated with Strophanthus, a potent poison. This documentary highlights their unique lifestyle and traditions, showcasing their connection to the land and their community.
