Synopsis

Yvonne Blenkinsop, the last surviving leader of the women from Hull's Hessle Road, recalls the aftermath of the triple trawler tragedy in 1968, which claimed 58 lives. The disaster struck a tight-knit fishing community, prompting the wives of fishermen to launch a campaign for safer working conditions. Their efforts became one of the largest civil action movements of the 20th century. Combining rare archive footage and personal testimonies, the film recounts the struggle for change that followed this maritime disaster.
