Synopsis

Stanislas Rodanski has lived at the Saint Jean de Dieu hospital since 1954. Between 1977 and 1980, filmmakers Bernard Cadoux and Jean-Paul Lebesson visited him regularly. Their conversations formed the basis of Horizon Perdu. The title references Frank Capra's 1937 film Lost Horizon and the mythical city of Shangri-La. Through these dialogues, the documentary presents Rodanski's thoughts and experiences during his long stay in the hospital.
