Synopsis

Lorne Collie, a retired machinist from Canada, creates whimsical stringed instruments from unconventional materials such as lawn rakes, stop signs, and bent pitchforks. Following a near-death experience, Collie's DIY inventiveness leads to the production of unique banjos, fiddles, and violins. Filmmaker Mike Maryniuk captures Collie's creative process through a blend of documentary footage and handcrafted animation, showcasing the joyful sounds of his instruments. Collie's refusal to sell his creations adds to their authenticity, reflecting his passion for music and craftsmanship. Directed by Mike Maryniuk, "Home Cooked Music" runs for 9 minutes.
