Hiroshima is a docudrama that recounts the first nuclear attack on August 6, 1945. It covers a three-week period from the Trinity test to the bombing of Hiroshima, detailing America's political decisions and the planning involved. The film incorporates historical reenactments, eyewitness accounts, and computer-generated imagery to depict the events surrounding the bombing. The documentary features interviews with six Japanese survivors, including Kinuko Laskey, a nurse, and Thomas Takashi Tanemori, an eight-year-old schoolboy at the time. It also includes perspectives from American military personnel such as Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the Enola Gay, and George Elsey, who witnessed the Potsdam Conference. The combination of archival film, dramatizations, and special effects provides a comprehensive view of the impact of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
