Synopsis

Willimantic, Connecticut, became the focus of national media in the summer of 2003 when the Hotel Hooker was labeled a hub for drugs and prostitution. Residents of the hotel and the surrounding community confront the damaging narratives that have emerged. Through candid interviews, they share their experiences and efforts to reclaim their town's reputation. "Heroin Town" presents a narrative of struggle and determination as the people of Willimantic work to counter the stereotypes that have taken hold.
