Synopsis

Rex Murphy hosted the launch of Heritage Minutes on March 31, 1991, during a history quiz show. The series features sixty-second films that depict significant events in Canadian history. Thirteen short films premiered on CBC Television and CTV Network, produced by Robert Guy Scully and narrated by Patrick Watson. Supported by the CRB Foundation, Canada Post Power Broadcasting, and the National Film Board, these films are distributed to networks at no cost. In 2009, Historica merged with The Dominion Institute to form The Historica-Dominion Institute.
