Synopsis
Shmuel-Haim Pappenhym, a radical Ultra-Orthodox leader, organizes mass demonstrations against the State of Israel. As a child, he covered his eyes during Independence Day fireworks to avoid participating in what he deemed "Zionist celebrations." In contrast, Rabbi Avraham Ravitz, an Ultra-Orthodox member of the Israeli parliament, has served in the Israeli Army and is deeply involved in mainstream politics. As national election day approaches, Ravitz counts his party's projected seats while Pappenhym anticipates high voter abstentions, viewing participation in Zionist elections as a grave sin.
