Hard Good Life

Synopsis

An elderly man spends his days alone in his home after the death of his wife. He cooks noodles, often eating them directly from the pot while watching television. Filmed by his daughter, Hui-ju Hsu, the documentary captures his routine as a security guard, where he sometimes dozes off. Ordinary objects like garbage, keys, and lizards fill the frame, evoking sensory details of summer. A simple wave to the camera reflects the bond between father and daughter, conveyed through minimal dialogue.
