Synopsis

On July 11th, 1804, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr row across the Hudson River to a secluded dueling ground in Weehawken, New Jersey. Both men, prominent lawyers in New York, have a history of rivalry fueled by their contrasting backgrounds; Hamilton rises from an orphan to elite status through ambition, while Burr is born into wealth. Their animosity escalates when Hamilton opposes Burr's bid for governor of New York, leading to Burr losing the election and blaming Hamilton. This conflict culminates in a duel where Hamilton, believing Burr would not shoot to kill, faces him. The duel results in Hamilton being shot in the abdomen, leading to his death the following day, surrounded by family. In the aftermath, Burr faces murder charges in New York and New Jersey, but the legal repercussions fade as dueling remains unprosecuted due to jury biases.
