Synopsis

Cheng ZhengMing and Wang Lele, two retired empty nesters in Shanghai, meet at an elderly university. Their friendship blossoms over shared interests and challenges, particularly their struggles with visa applications. Wang Lele hopes to visit her son, who immigrated to Canada years ago. Set against the backdrop of social changes from the 1950s to the end of the twentieth century, the film addresses the aging population in China while reflecting on universal themes of love and connection.
