Synopsis
More than 3000 western lowland gorillas inhabit the Central African Republics Dzanga-Sangha National Park. They are lesser-known relatives of the mountain gorillas. Animal videographer Thomas Behrend follows Makumba the silverback and his family for several months, capturing rare footage that provides insight into the daily life of a lowland gorilla family. The film also highlights the efforts of the people studying these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
