Synopsis

Riar Rizaldi reflects on the Indonesian horror and exploitation films from the 1980s and 1990s that shaped his youth. He revisits these films, which were often screened outside traditional theaters. Rizaldi considers how these works create a sense of a ‘cinematic elsewhere.’ The 20-minute documentary presents a personal and cultural perspective on a unique film genre that has largely remained outside mainstream recognition.
