New technology is already making ghost guns harder to control. In the last decade, 3D printed weapons evolve from flimsy plastic to include models like AK-47s, AR-15s, and even rocket launchers. Hobbyists such as Ethan Middleton design new gun components and share the files online for public access. He demonstrates his 3D printed gun, a nine millimeter MAC 11 he calls the 'mac and cheese,' which features a blue lower receiver, the regulated part that requires serial numbers. Ethan expresses concern about the potential misuse of his designs, acknowledging that bad people will always find ways to commit crimes. He emphasizes the importance of keeping his operations legal and transparent while also recognizing the risks involved in creating ghost guns.
