Synopsis

Paul Pena, a blind blues musician known for his song "Jet Airliner," travels to Tuva, a region in Siberia, in 1993 after discovering Tuvan throat singing on his shortwave radio. The film follows Pena as he immerses himself in Tuvan culture and competes in a throat singing contest. Throughout his experience, he blends his blues roots with this ancient vocal art form. The documentary features English, Russian, and Tuvan languages, illustrating the cultural exchange that unfolds in Tuva.
