From Trash to Treasure

Synopsis

Nthabiseng TeReo Mohanela transforms discarded materials into clothing and accessories in Lesotho, a highland country surrounded by South Africa. Her project, “From Trash to Treasure,” teaches young people about recycling and creativity. The film features various artists addressing social issues, including child marriage and climate change. Musicians compose songs, farmers gather seeds to protect endangered trees, and designers promote traditional Basotho culture. Each innovator contributes to a movement that encourages rethinking and reusing materials for positive change.
