Synopsis

In the town of Kotka, Finland, residents face a dilemma over the last remaining statue of Lenin. Historically, many Finns credit Lenin with helping Finland gain independence from Russia in 1917. However, recent Russian aggression in Ukraine has led citizens to reconsider their feelings about the statue. Director Einari Paakkanen captures this shift in perspective in the 2024 documentary, "Forgetting Lenin." The film runs for six minutes.
