Synopsis

In the Peruvian Andes, indigenous weavers create textiles that reflect their culture and identity. These hand-made pieces are at risk due to racism and the rise of cheap, machine-made products. The Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) works to preserve Cusqueñan textile traditions and support the artisans behind them. Established by local weavers and their allies, the CTTC aims to combat the erosion of respect for traditional crafts and protect the intellectual rights of native peoples.
