Synopsis
Animator Martine Chartrand spent eight years creating her short film Macpherson, inspired by Félix Leclerc's song about Frank Randolph MacPherson, a Jamaican immigrant to Canada. Directed by Serge Giguère, Finding Macpherson documents Chartrand's intricate process, which includes extensive research into MacPherson's life. The film features Chartrand's unique technique of animated painting on glass. Released in 2014, it won the Prix Jutra for Best Documentary Film at the 17th Jutra Awards in 2015.
