Synopsis
Deborah Feldman left the Hasidic community in New York City to reclaim her sexuality and advocate for women's rights. In the 2018 documentary *Female Pleasure*, director Barbara Miller follows five women from diverse backgrounds, including Somali psychotherapist Leyla Hussein and Japanese artist Rokudenashiko. Each woman confronts cultural and religious repression of female sexuality. The film premiered at the International Film Festival Locarno and later received accolades, including the Zonta Prize and the Amnesty International Award at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
