Synopsis
Michael Ruetz was the first German to photograph Auschwitz. He documented the young Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the German Democratic Republic (GDR). His photographs of the 1968 movement remain significant. Ruetz had a close relationship with artist Joseph Beuys and continues to work on longstanding photographic series. This documentary presents Ruetz's life, work, and influence on contemporary perceptions of history.
