Erasing Hate chronicles Bryon Widner's efforts to remove his racist facial tattoos after leaving the white power movement. Widner, a former skinhead who co-founded the Vinlanders Social Club, spent 16 years in racist organizations. His transformation began after marrying Julie Larsen and becoming a father, which motivated him to leave behind his violent past. The documentary follows Widner's struggle against death threats and harassment as he seeks to rejoin society. His extensive facial tattoos, many depicting violence and racism, posed significant barriers to his reintegration. With the help of anti-racist activist Daryle Lamont Jenkins and the Southern Poverty Law Center, Widner underwent a painful tattoo removal process funded by an anonymous donor, totaling $35,000 and lasting over a year and a half.
