Synopsis

Found footage from the first half of the 20th century forms a collage in Energy Energy. The film combines documentary and training films that reflect on progress and technological development. It addresses the exploitation of natural and human resources through various visual narratives. French composer Pierre Bastien provides a mechanical rhythm that complements the imagery, enhancing the film's exploration of these themes. The 1999 work runs for seven minutes and offers a critical look at the era's advancements.
