Synopsis
Kalusha Bwalya, captain of Zambia's national football team, was in the Netherlands on April 27, 1993, when tragedy struck. A plane carrying 30 members of the team crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Libreville, Gabon, killing all on board. Over the next 18 years, the Football Association of Zambia rebuilt the team. In 2012, Zambia won the Africa Cup of Nations, defeating Ivory Coast in a tense penalty shootout. The final took place close to the site of the 1993 crash.
