Synopsis

Cairo serves as the backdrop for "Die Laughing," a 19-minute documentary that follows comedians as they confront the risks of performing in an oppressive environment. The film features "Saturday Night Live Arabia," which attempts to deliver bold cultural humor, and "Red Tomato," a group of street clowns from Europe and Egypt. It also includes "The Street Children," who share satirical sketches on social media. Each performance carries the threat of imprisonment.
