Synopsis
In her cell, Saint Agatha of Catania is accompanied by the severed breasts that symbolize her torment. Devoti Tutti uses magical realist animations in the style of baroque chiaroscuro to give voice to Agatha, who has been silenced for centuries. The film intertwines her story with the experiences of abuse survivors and the citizens of Catania. It reveals how the community's veneration of Agatha conceals misogynist realities, as she ultimately escapes her prison and asserts her own identity.
