Synopsis
In the villages of northeastern Iran, Nasrollah Kasraian and Ziba Arshi document the lives of the Turkmans, a community near the Afghanistan border. The film captures their traditional culture, including the roles of women in child-rearing, rice farming, and rug weaving. Shamans are shown treating physical and mental ailments with music and ritualistic tools. Four years after their initial visit, the filmmakers return to find significant changes in the Turkman society.
