Synopsis

Seven-year-old Zakhar and his nine-year-old brother Procopius roam the tundra of the Krasnoyarsk Territory with their pet deer. They are part of a new initiative that revives nomadic schools, which had vanished in the 1930s. This program allows children to remain with their families while receiving an education. Nelli Andreevna, a 23-year-old teacher, arrives to instruct them in subjects like mathematics and contemporary figures, including Vladimir Putin. The film documents their lives and the effort to sustain nomadic traditions in modern Russia.
