Synopsis
Dancers and musicians perform against a backdrop of archival audio in Danse Macabre. The 21-minute film draws on the work of Dr Carl Jung to depict the conscious and unconscious mind. It features the Yoruba Egúngún masquerade, which conveys ancestral memory through movement and sound. The film connects modern psychology with Yoruba culture and east Asian concepts of life force. Through poetry and performance, it presents a diverse view of the human psyche.
