Synopsis

Heinrich Danioth, a prominent artist from the canton of Uri, painted the iconic red devil on the rock face of Schöllenen Gorge. Despite his significant contributions to 20th-century Swiss art, he remains largely unknown. The film draws from Danioth’s diaries and letters to reconstruct his life story. It features contemporary witnesses, including his two daughters, who provide personal insights into the artist's legacy and the circumstances that led to his obscurity.
