Synopsis

Every year, the seasonal rains flood the Zapata swamp, transforming the landscape into a vibrant ecosystem. The inland lagoons multiply, attracting migratory birds that join local species to nest. This period marks a time of abundance as the mangrove forest thrives with various species searching for food. Hummingbirds and orioles flit among the flowers, seeking nectar and insects. In the recently-flooded areas, there is a veritable explosion of life, with millions of small invertebrates proliferating, creating a rich habitat for wildlife.
