Synopsis

Shannon performs on city streets, confronting assumptions about disability. His work spans two decades and includes performances at prestigious venues worldwide. Archival footage captures his early years as a dancer and performance artist. The film considers his controversial use of strangers’ empathy during these acts. It also illustrates Shannon's efforts to empower others facing similar barriers. "Crutch" documents his evolution from a childhood labeled as a "cripple" to an influential artist.
