Ephraim Bani travels to major museums in Europe with his wife to reclaim the cultural artifacts of the Torres Strait Islanders. A century ago, the Cambridge Anthropological Expedition depleted their heritage, leaving behind a history of loss. The Torres Strait Islanders are the only Pacific people who made elaborate turtleshell masks, yet none remain in their homeland. Instead, these masks reside in foreign institutions, prompting Bani's quest to confront the legacy of colonialism and cultural theft.
