[Clouds: Ahead]

Synopsis

The late-twenty-something filmmaker leaves a long-term relationship and a secure apartment, and has to return home to her parents. Gazing at the sky, she imagines her view extending to a more promising future, one in which she can afford a place of her own. Window frames become portals for reflection, within which she uses personal archival material to reinterpret a life crisis and portray relationships with the people she once shared, currently shares, and hopes one day to share a living space with. Evoking the perspectives of both her former and current life companion, she attempts to step beyond the frame and speak openly about the fact that, these days, falling in love with someone who owns their own property is a jackpot-like fantasy. This is a story about living within frames and dreaming beyond them, bounded by the cinematic frame itself, within which anything is possible—even keeping your head in the clouds when economic reality keeps pulling you back down to earth.
