Synopsis
Hoko Kanou began a joint childcare initiative in 1995 at an apartment in Higashinakano, Tokyo. She invited around 10 individuals to help raise her children. The group met monthly to assign responsibilities. Tsuchi Kanou, her son and the film's director, was raised in this environment. After graduating from college, he sought out the people who participated in his upbringing and learned their stories. Their experiences form the basis of "Chinbotsu Kazoku.
