Synopsis
On the island of Guam, Chuukese and Yapese families cultivate traditional foods in their backyards. Breadfruit and Open Spaces presents their personal stories as they live, work, and attend school. The documentary captures their efforts to maintain connections with their home islands in the Federated States of Micronesia. It shows the challenges they face in adapting to a new environment while preserving their cultural identity. The film runs for 30 minutes and was released in 2012.
