Synopsis

In the jungles of northern Burma and Thailand, remnants of the Kuomintang waited for orders from Taiwan. After retreating to Taiwan in 1949, these soldiers received instructions from President Chiang Kai-Shek to remain hidden. They were to bide their time until the moment was right to retake mainland China from the communists. As decades passed, they became a lost army, waiting for a mission that never came. Their story spans fifty years of isolation and uncertainty.
