Synopsis
Sahaba escapes from her master after enduring years of abuse. She reunites with her son Bilal, who believed she was a witch. Now 16, Bilal navigates life in the capital, Nouakchott, where he and his mother live on the outskirts of society. The couple Boubacar Massoud and Maluma provide refuge for runaway slaves through their organization, SOS Slaves. Despite laws against slavery, the practice persists in Mauritania, where many remain trapped in a cycle of servitude.
