Synopsis
A Japanese Canadian fisherman reflects on his experiences during World War II internment. "Blue Garden," a hybrid-doc-animation released in 2022, recounts his story and the trauma that can linger through generations. The film illustrates how family narratives often remain unspoken, yet it also shows how the younger generation engages in filmmaking to confront their grief. Through this participatory process, they find empowerment in sharing their family history. The documentary runs for five minutes.
