Synopsis

On June 27, 1976, Air France Flight 139, carrying 246 passengers, was hijacked by terrorists and diverted to Entebbe, Uganda. Among the hostages were primarily Jewish individuals. In response, Israeli Defense Minister Shimon Peres authorized a bold rescue mission led by the elite unit Sayeret Matkal. The operation, known as Operation Thunderbolt, involved meticulous planning and execution, ultimately resulting in the successful rescue of the hostages and marking a significant event in the history of counter-terrorism efforts.
