Some participants believed the revolution continued, while others felt it was time to shift focus to regional and governmental work. Municipal services joined forces with Maidan activists to clean the area, reflecting a moment of transition. The atmosphere evoked themes from Panteleimon Kulish's classic novel The Black Council, as the city began to reclaim its space.
