Synopsis

The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, chemical, and biological agents, has escalated over the past century, driven by an arms race and deterrence policies. Governed by international conventions, these CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) weapons pose significant threats of mass disruption. In response to the rise of hyper-terrorism following the September 11 attacks, the international community, including researchers, manufacturers, and military organizations, is collaborating to develop advanced tools for the detection, identification, decontamination, and neutralization of toxic agents.
